Director's BIO

After studying in Ballyfermot College in Dublin and the Edinburgh College of Art, Paul Ó Muiris quickly joined the rank of the Oscar-nominated Irish studio Cartoon Saloon based in Kilkenny, Ireland. He directed the award-winning animated short film “The Ledge End of Phil (from accounting)” and the “An raibh tu ar an gcarraig” episode of the “Cul An Ti” TV series, as well as the 22 minute pilote episode “Eddie of the Realms Eternal” for Amazon Prime. When he’s not directing, he also works as a Compositing Supervisor, notably for projects such as the Cartoon Saloon 2D feature film “My Father’s Dragon” directed by Nora Twomey, or short-form content “Clash Royale” and “Brawl Stars” for Oscar-nominated Danish studio Sun Creature and Supercell.

In 2024, he co-created the Galway-based animation studio and production company Studio Marguya with his partner Anne-Flore Aussant, where he directing the animated short film "Meteoric" as part of the Framework scheme with Screen Ireland and RTE. The film has just started its festival run, and premiered in the official selection of the 37th Galway Film Fleadh.
